Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United America. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the company to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter she left the business. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank to date. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family depended sometimes on food delivered by the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank too much, and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed a few drinks. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran went to an Catholic primary school within her community and started the high school year in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was a failure in numerous classes in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
